The Centre for the Communication and Research was founded in 2003 within Ghislieri College in order to coordinate the activities of the College itself concerning the advanced scientific research and training context of excellence in different fields of study. The Centre coordinates the relationship between Ghislieri College and individuals and public or private institutions. In a more specific way, the Centre is engaged in use of founding allocated by individuals and public or private institutions.
The Centre is divided in several scientific fields: the medical and biological area that was founded in 2003, the logical and philosophical area that was founded in 2004 and the legal informatics area that was founded in 2005. In addition, there are more recent areas: Psychology, History of Arts, Probability and Statistic. Within each of these areas is established a Scientific Committee which has to manage the research and training activities related to the different subjects. The Administration Board of the Ghislieri College named five members for each Committee. The members could be researchers, academics, Italian or foreign scholars of authority. If necessary for the research and advanced training activities, each Committee can co-opt up to two members chosen from among researchers, academics, Italian or foreign scholars of authority.
